After satisfying the Bon appetite of the ever so welcomed guests and the satisfactory gleaming smiles and warm hugs at departure, it’s not just that which remains, isn’t it ladies?

Things are not that rosy, and in these happy meal hours of a picturesque moment, something calls your attention to an obvious mess – like used dishes, a sticky floor or a crusty oven. And not to forget, the ever-so-helpful air fryer, one among the best kitchen appliances in UAE (United Arab Emirates), that worked hand-in-hand to prep this delicious meal!!!

You would think that cleaning an air fryer is simple. After all, these machines use forced heated air to cook food rather than oil. That has to be better than cleaning up after deep-frying, with oil splatters all over you and your stove and used fat that needs to be disposed of, right?

True, but fat or oil from the food fried in an air fryer may still end up in the bottom of the pull-out basket drawer. And putting off cleaning will make it a more difficult task when you do get around to it. KHIND, provider of home appliances online in Dubai, UAE, shares handy tips on how to clean an air fryer!!!

Steps to clean an air fryer

  1. Don’t put off cleaning; you’ll regret it later.

Don’t let the crumbs and scraps of food lie overnight, KHIND advises, or else the basket and drawer will be a pain to clean. “When you’re finished frying, unplug the air fryer, set it aside to cool, and then dump the oil from the pullout drawer and discard it.

Clean the grate, basket, and drawer while they’re still warm if you’re air-frying food with a sticky sauce, such as marinated ribs. The mess will come off easier. KHIND provides a non-stick coated frying basket, so the chances of sticky items left over will be lesser than others.

2. Use warm, soapy water to clean the removable components. Avoid abrasives by using a soft sponge or cloth. If any of the pieces are trapped with food, soak them in hot water with dish soap to dislodge the food.

3. Remove any food that has become stuck in the basket, grill or grate with a wooden skewer or toothpick. Separately, dry the components.

4. Use a damp cloth dipped in warm soapy water to clean the inside of the air fryer. It is still necessary to remove the basket and drawer. Wipe away any grease or food debris from the heating element. (Some manufacturers recommend removing stuck-on food with a soft brush rather than steel wire.) Reassemble after drying.

5. Wipe the exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth or sponge, then dry it.
